Resolving the Error "Unexpected Error Has Occurred" when opening Reporter In Analyst® Software

When opening Reporter in Analyst® software, an error message appears reading "Unexpected error has occurred. Retrieving the COM class factory for component with CLSID..."

Resolution

This is a common error that appears when the Analyst® software version is not supported by the operating system. For instance, if Analyst Software1.6.1 is installed on Windows 10, an incompatible operating system for this version of Analyst software, then this error will occur. The solution here is to either install the software on an operating system that is supported or to upgrade the software to a version that is supported on the operating system.
