Answer

To transfer or import an acquisition method (*.dam file) created in Analyst® software into SCIEX OS software, start by copying the acquisition method file (.dam file) from the computer where Analyst software is installed (usually located in D:/ Analyst Data/Projects/<project name>/Acquisition methods). Then paste the method file on the PC where SCIEX OS software is installed (any location is fine). To start transferring the method into SCIEX OS software, select the correct project in the Projects menu under the Configuration tile. Then select the MS method tile, click Open and then select Convert file. Select the desired method file (*.dam) and then open. The acquisition method parameters will be imported into SCIEX OS software, where the method parameters can be reviewed.

Source parameters imported from a different instrument model will need to be adjusted because these parameters do not translate between instrument models. For example, curtain gas (CUR) on a 7500 needs to be ~40 psi or higher for most LC flow rates. Performing source optimization using FIA or tee-infusion is recommended when transferring methods to another mass spectrometer; and the SCIEX technical support team can review any updates to your method parameters after transferring the method from Analyst software to SCIEX OS software.

Once the method is transferred and complete, select Save As to save this method in the selected project.

Note: The LC method parameters will need to be entered manually into SCIEX OS software; these do not transfer over automatically when Convert file is selected.
