How to perform a source back out (Pyrolysis) in SCIEX OS software or Analyst® software?

Clean curtain plate and source with a lint-free cloth (e.g., kimwipe) with water then methanol.

SCIEX OS software – MS method
Activate the LC-MS Hardware profile in the configuration pane. Go to the MS Method pane and click “New” à “Q1” and create the following acquisition method:

Duration 4hrs minimum or ideally all night.

Diverter Valve Method
If a diverter valve is plumbed on your set-up, make sure you send everything to the MS.

LC Method
Prepare 1 L of 50-50 LC-MS grade Methanol-Water+ 0.1% formic acid solution and move both lines from the pump to it. Change the strainers before putting them in the bottles. Make sure the lines are well purged. Remove any columns from the flow path and use the LC condition below.

Duration depending on what you have chosen for the MS part.

Batch creation and method start
Prepare a batch and acquire one blank injection for the method to start.

Activate the LC-MS Hardware profile and click “create new acquisition method” to create the following acquisition method:
