To synchronize signals between a SCIEX mass spectrometer, the SCIEX OS software and LC devices that are not directly controlled by the SCIEX OS software, contact closure can be used. Contact closure can be initiated by connecting a contact closure cable to the AUX I/O port on the SCIEX mass spectrometer and the LC controller. To indicate if a mass spectrometer is using contact closure, the device hardware profile needs to be updated. Navigate to the Device section of the Configuration mode and select the instrument which will use contact closure. Select the Settings button and then select the Contact Closer checkbox (see image below).
