Answer

This is a set of instructions for changing the number of decimals displayed in Analyst® software quantitation metric plots and calibration curves. The default number of decimals leaves the significance so low that you can not reproduce the results shown in the results table. A warning is given to let customers know that Regedit is a dangerous utility.

In order to change the number of digits that are used in the equation (for slope and intercept), please follow instructions below:

To change this you have to modify a registry entry for Analyst software.
1. Close Analyst software
2. Then (in Windows 7) left click Start followed by Run....

3.When the Run box opens, type in Regedit

This will open the Registry Editor Window. Be very careful, changes take effect immediately and there is no way to undo these changes.
4. Then select Analyst software.
5. Followed by Explore.
6. Finally, click on Regression.
This will bring up the two options shown below:

Double clicking on the "Num Decimals" icon will bring up a window for editing the number of decimals displayed when listing the results of the linear regression used by Analyst software quantitation mode.

Please enter the new digit for the number of digits that you want to display. Note that for numbers below 7 it does not matter if the base is hexadecimal or decimal.

After the number is entered, click OK to change the registry.

Close the Edit DWORD Value and start Analyst software. The regression results displayed by the calibration and the metric plots within the Quantitation mode should now reflect the greater number of digits.
