Yes, the SCIEX QTRAP® or TripleQuad™ 7500 LC-MS/MS Systems can operate without the E Lens™ Technology active. Each QTRAP and TripleQuad 7500 System comes with a blanking plug that can be inserted should there be a need to operate without the E Lens Technology. For high-flow and microflow electrospray ionization experiments, the E Lens Technology within the OptiFlow® Pro Ion Source contributes to the sensitivity improvements of the system. When using atmospheric pressure chemical ionization, the E Lens Technology cannot be used and should be replaced with the blanking plug.
