Using an Older Version to Open a Processing Method Created in a Newer Version of SCIEX OS Software

Issue Description

The following error appears when trying to open processing method with SCIEX OS Software that was created on a different computer with a lower version of the software: "Error:System.NullReferenceException : Object reference not set to an instance of an object." 

Resolution

The files created in SCIEX OS Software are not backwards compatible with other versions of the software. This error appears when a processing method created with a higher version of SCIEX OS Software (e.g., 2.0) is opened with a previous version of SCIEX OS Software (e.g., 1.7).

To open a processing method created in the latest version of SCIEX OS Software with the older version, export the processing method as a text file. Then open a new processing method in an older version of SCIEX OS Software and import the components and integration parameters from the text file. Once all integration parameters are imported, save the method.
